How It Works

EagleEye Director

The Polycom EagleEye Director, the latest videoconferencing system at IU, uses voice and facial recognition to help personalize live classes and meetings.

The system uses two high-definition cameras to offer both wide shots of the room and close-ups of speakers. The view switches automatically as the close-up camera uses voice and facial recognition technology to find and follow speakers as they move about the room.

The EagleEye Director System also offers:

  • Two large screen monitors to make remote site participants appear life-size when speaking and shared content easier to see
  • A touch screen panel that makes it easy to use
  • A variety of display sharing capabilities, including computer screens, applications, document cameras, or external laptops
